Akwa Ibom boasts a deeply rich, distinct culture alongside a rapidly growing tech ecosystem. My role was to capture that energy and to bridge these two worlds (Tech and culture) by creating a series of illustrations and animations for the event that would make tech feel native to our soil and culture feel central to our future.

We didn't want the branding to feel like typical, generic tech graphics. The goal was to use illustration and motion to find that perfect sweet spot between Akwa Ibom's deep cultural roots and its digital future.

To make that connection real, I focused on things locals would recognize and feel proud of:

  • Iconic Landmarks: I created custom illustrations of Akwa Ibom's structural and cultural landmarks, blending our heritage with a clean, modern aesthetic.

  • The Living Map: I took the actual map of the state and turned it into a smooth, looping motion pattern—symbolizing connectivity and the continuous growth of our ecosystem.

Results and Impact

The visual identity resonated deeply with the audience. Because the designs were rooted in familiar landmarks, attendees felt an immediate connection to the physical space, it felt less like a standard tech conference and more like a celebration of our community's potential.
